A Safe Shopping Trip

Pam is going shopping today with her baby, Kim. They are getting ready to go. She wants their drive to the store to be a safe one. She uses the baby car seat every time they get in the car, on both short and long trips.

Pam has the baby seat in the backseat of the car. She knows that any child under 12 years of age should ride in the backseat. The backseat is the safest place for any child.

Pam puts Kim in her car seat. She straps Kim in tightly. Pam has her facing the back, or rear, of the car. Babies can start facing forward when they are 20 pounds and can sit up well.

Kim is ready! Pam gets in the car. She puts on her seat belt. Pam is ready. Mom and baby will have a safe trip to the store.
