Doctor Visits and Work

Ruth works eight hours a day, five days a week. She works the day shift in an egg plant. Ruth needs to see her doctor for an exam. Her boss wants workers to make visits to the doctor at the start of the workday.

During her break, Ruth calls the clinic. She asks for an early morning time to see her doctor. The nurse says, “You can be seen at nine o’clock on Monday. Will that day and time work for you?”

Ruth says, “Yes, thank you. That is a good time for me.”

She writes down the date and time of her exam. She tells her boss the date and time. He thanks Ruth for making it in the early part of the day.
