Farmers Market

Hoa and Ming leave their ESL class for the day. As they walk down the hall, Hoa asks, “Ming, would you like to come with me to the farmers market?”

Ming answers, “Yes, I like fresh food. I miss buying fresh food each day. That’s what I did in my native country.”

“I did too. I had fresh meat and fruit each day,” says Hoa.

“I think the food tastes better when it’s fresh, and it’s better for you,” states Ming.

At the market, Ming picks out pears, green beans, and fish. Hoa buys snow pea pods, carrots, and cherries.

“Let’s do this next week,” says Ming.

“Yes, I would like that,” says Hoa. “See you in class.”
