Reading Skills for Today's Adults

Waseca is a small town with 9000 people. It is in southern Minnesota. I think Waseca is a very beautiful city. It is very nice and quiet. People who live and work in Waseca are very friendly and kind to foreign friends.

There are two lakes in Waseca. One is Loon Lake. The other is Clear Lake. There are a lot of ducks and geese in the lake areas. We once saw a mother duck swimming with her ducklings.

There are two highways in Waseca. One is Highway 13. The other is Highway 14. The place where I live is very close to Highway 13. The place where I work is very close to Highway 14.

There are two supermarkets near my home. One is Wal-Mart. One is Hy-Vee. It takes me about five minutes to walk to them. The stores have anything you want to buy. If you don’t know where something is, you can ask the salesperson. They are warm and friendly and will answer your questions. They will help you find things. I like to go shopping there.

I have been in Waseca for about one year and eight months. So far, I have made quite a few good friends. They often help me. I love them so much! In short, Waseca is a very beautiful place! I love the place, and I love the people who live and work in Waseca!
