License, Please
Dave just finished working the night shift. He is driving home. He sees red flashing lights. It is a police car. Dave stops his car on the side of the road.
The officer comes to the car. He says, “Sir, you have a headlight out. It is the one on the right. It needs to be fixed. I’ll give a warning this time. Please show me your driver’s license.”
Dave looks in his wallet. His license is not there. He says, “I left my license at home.”
The officer replies, “It is the law to have your license with you when you are driving. You will have to pay a fine. The cost of not having your license with you when you’re driving is $185.”
Dave sighs and says, “I didn’t know that. I’ll have it with me from now on.”
