Sharing a Meal on Family Night

It is Monday evening. Tonight is family night for the Cranes. They all help make supper. Each person has a job. The jobs change each week. This week Mom cooks corn on the cob. Dad grills the meat. They both help make dessert.

The children help too. Nan washes some grapes and puts them in a bowl. Then she toasts the bread. Rob sets the table and pours the milk. The children like to help. They learn to cook. They learn to set the table. They learn how to clean up after a meal.

While they eat supper, the Cranes talk about their day. Mom and Dad talk about their jobs. Nan and Rob talk about school and friends. They enjoy their time together.
